History
Htalu is the daughter of the tribe's leaders. She spends her days picking wildflowers for medicines (she wishes to become a healer) and wandering the island to sit in peaceful, undisturbed spots where she can listen to the sea and the jungle.
It was whilst doing this that she met Shugak, as the two both happened to be in the form of a horse. Being the tribe's princess, and a bit of a loner too, she had not met Shugak before and was intrigued that he was roaming alone. The spot was on the far side of the island, at the top of a large plain - becoming a horse was the fastest way to reach this wooded outcrop overlooking the sea.
They spent a lot of time together, and the tribe came to accept them as a pair - the quiet princess and the daring, mysterious man who avoided showing his true, human face.
Personality
Htalu is a quiet soul - which is why she gets on so well with Shugak. they are very good friends is all, but their similar personalities and love of peace and quiet make them a good match. She loves the sea and flowers, and being raised as tribal 'royalty' can seem quite distant. It seems as though her head is always somewhere else although really she just likes to think.
